Wiring the high mount stop lamp on bed cap
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a 2007 regular cab Ranger, V6 5 speed. I'm looking for info on the best way to wire the high mount lamp correctly on the bed cap so it doesn't flash when the turn signals are used. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I'll try the electrical tech. The high mount is a stop light. It should only come on when the brakes are applied. It can't be spliced into the cars brake lites because they also power the flashers and the high mount stop lite is not supposed to flash. Thanks again.

mabe you could splice into the trailer harness if your truck has one?
although whoever installed the one on my truck spliced into the drivers side tail light harness and it dosin't flash....

From my research, you have to run a wire all the way up to the brake light switch at the pedal. Otherwise you will have it flashing w a turn signal.
taping into the trailer plug will result in a flashing high 3rd brake lite as well unless you have it tapped into a electric trailer brake wire, which is the the same as what i said in my 1st paragraph. you need to run a wire

I am trying to get the third brake light working on my cap. The truck has had caps on it before. When I got under the truck to look I do see a wire that was capped that runs to the front of the truck. This maybe the wire you are speaking of, how do I connect it to my third brake light which has 2 black wires coming off of it?
