Question brake bleeders

I have a 98 xlt. I need to replace all the bleeders(badly rusted), but i kinda stripped them. So the only thing I can think of is using a protable propane torch to heat them up. Is there any chance of me doing damage to the brakes, etc... say in side the drums, and calipers?

my guess would be yes b/c if you get the brake fluid to hot it may act like a pipe bomb... you can replace the cylinders in the rear brakes i think they are like 20 buck apiece... 2 bolts and the brake line and they are changed... calipers you could end up melting the seals inside of it... not sure how much they are to change.

Been there, SUCKS, got 2 new calipers and 2 new wheel cylinders.

DON"T heat 'em up! Calipers are cheap compared to wheel bearings/ rotors/ exploding face from brake fluid.

I got my wheel cylinders for $6/ea and calipers for $28/ea

Try using bolt extractor. It shouldn't be hard because they already have holes drilled in them. It's just like a screw that the threads are reversed to thread into the hole and thread the stuck bolt out. Sometimes they break off but it's worth a shot.
