almost the whole thing, but lots of spots were blotchy/white dots showing through and no where near thick enough.

This shits tricky. idk whether the gloss is specs of white or if its just gloss or if the specs of white i see from one angle are gloss from wet paint or wat. Its all covered now, im gonna go out in an hour and take a look then add some more since i got it. good thing i didnt start on the side of the truck! lol

on a side note, driving without a hood is crazy looking lol the hood really adds a lot

As long as the tape is pulled up when each coat is still wet it should still make a clean edge. And just don't overbrush trying to make it look good when it's wet. It's made to be really good at self leveling. I believe it's pretty normal to get an inconsistent look on the first coat.

what do you mean as long as i pull the tape up? Im only painting the raised center and dont wanna have to re tape every tim it was hard enough the first time lol. You saying i should pull the tape up before i paint it anymore?

----------

ooooh you mean dont let it dry all the way then pull the tape up cause it will pull some of the edge up i got you!

----------

should look good when done. Theres some smudging from where i didnt tape good but for the most part the edge is ok and i can probably get the excess off when everything is dry. Mick you probably saved me cause i wouldve let it dry with the tape. Right after you said that i went and sprayed the edges and took it off. We will see how it is tomorrow i suppose of if im up at 11 or 12 or 1 (9:30 now) ill get on and post more pics. sorry its just a celly pic

How long before it fully cures? Not dry to the touch, cures. Cause I don't know if I'd expose it to weather until then. What do you think about sealing it with some of that synthetic spray wax before you put it back on? Might take the sheen up a notch but it needs something to make the fine dirt particles from embedding into it. I'd test that out on some scrap first cause it may be hard enough to hold up on it's own after curing.

It looks respectable so far. You can tell it'll be consistent. That and you got balls!!!

Yeah idk, i dont have any wax or anything. Its supposed to hold up without that. I read somehwere that a sales rep from plasti dip said dont add anything cause the plasti dip will absorb it and turn it brittle. Im letting it sit all night until like 10 in the am at the absolute earliest. And i figure if its shitty i can just peel it off lol

It takes longer to cure when its on a large area and a thicker coat... and primer isn't needed for plastidip.. it will always settle as matte black so the glossy spots is wet paint

Theres was a part that was like stringy for some reason...so i took the stringy part off and it exposed bare paint so i painted over it, and it looks like shit. But like you said hopefully it will just settle in.

Anxious to see it! Mine is definatly smoothed out and the problem area is only noticable when you get up on it. Still needs to dry after 10+ hours, but it was a lot of spray and its pretty cold. Ill be thinking of a way to clean the edges up while i wait
