Do Deflectors Trap Dirt?
Do the wind deflectors (hood and windows) on a Ranger trap dirt? I'm ordered some for mine, but now I am wondering if it will cause damage to the paint over time......

Re: Do Deflectors Trap Dirt?
lol. well let me ask you this... how do they "stick". is it applied with adhesives or do they just "snap" into place? i'm talking about the ones made by Ford.
actually I don't even wash my truck myself. I work at a Ford dealership, so I just run it through cleanup whenever it's needed. lol

Niceee! haha
So you gonna do it? I like the way the window ones look. not so much on the hood ones.

Re: Do Deflectors Trap Dirt?
The front one will trap more dirt and pine needles than the window ones... The ones for my windows never trap anything. but when I had the deflector on the front I had to clean under it frequently to keep it from building up... I took my hood deflector off cause it doesnt really do much. At least i never noticed a difference

Re: Do Deflectors Trap Dirt?
yah i'm going to go ahead and put both on. I would just do the windows, but I live right around the NC coast, so the amount of bugs that muck up my windshield while driving home from work now is absolutley RIDICULOUS! lol Hopefully the hood deflector will help a bit...
----------
^plus there aren't many trees around where I park, so i shouldn't have to worry about pine needles and whatnot falling in there

Re: Do Deflectors Trap Dirt?
mine is held in with pins that go under hood. and if you clean it on a regular basis, then you will be fine. My truck gets washed once or twice a week, do its always clean

Trust me I know all about them bugs. I hate them, haha My hood and windshield are always covered... That Rain-x washer fluid works pretty dang good for most of the smaller bugs. the big ones it gets most of it off but smears some.

Re: Do Deflectors Trap Dirt?
sounds good. thanks for the advice yall. i'll have to put up some pics when I get everything done. After the deflectors and all weather mats will be the spray in bed liner I think... that's next month's project haha.

Re: Do Deflectors Trap Dirt?
thank you. When all is said and done I would like to have the following:
deflectors, rubber mats, bedliner (spray in w/ rail caps), bed extender (just for the heck of it), darker window tint, a killer sound system w/ DVD player, and maybe some interior lighting.....
just a little here and there, and hopefully i'll be done within a year!
