Default Window Tint?

First of all just bought a 04 ranger reg cab 2.3L 4x2 for my work vehicle. Couldnt buy a car! lol

Has anyone installed window tint on your ranger? I have helped a guy who does it for a living on my other truck so im confident in doing it myself. What brand of tint is better than others? What about pre cut tints that you can buy vehicle specific?

Thanks,

Yea im thinkin about either 20% or 35% not sure yet. I had 20% on my other truck that i really liked. Do you know how easy (or hard) it is to take the window out on the rangers?

I know to do the back you can just leave it in and i'm not sure about taking the window out I know your going to have to remove your whole door panel to do so, on mine there is a plastic sheet behind the panel but i didnt take it off when i had my panels off so it all depends on your truck.

I just did the extended-cab windows in my '11 Ranger today . I used the "static-cling" 95% limo tint. It goes on just like the permanent stuff (wet the window and squeegee out the bubbles), but if you don't like the looks..........peel it off. It probably wouldn't work with moveable windows, but with fixed windows it should do well.

go with 20 dont get stuff from stores spend the extra money to get a name brand off a tint website like suntek. Clean the windows with a sponge. Clean them agian. Leave the window on, spray window and film with soapy water, roll down window an inch. apply film to window at the top. Get it all lined up then start on the sides and work your way down, then roll up window and work the tint to where you want it. then leave windows up for 4 days or so

One token of advice: buy more tint than you'll need.

Tinting windows definitely has a learning curve and it will likely take you a few tries to get it to set right.

take your time with it and keep it wet as possible , and trim the edges very careful and be ready to have to start all over haha it tears very easy , but i must say i tinted mine a couple weeks ago and it wasnt to hard , deffinetly one of the easier rigs to do because the windows are flat

Hi there, I know that there are regulations regarding the percentages of tint but I was wondering if there are certain kinds of colored window tint that are illegal in some states? I've seen cars driving with green and blue tint so I was wondering about that.

x2 The auto part store tint is thinner and harder to work with..get some good tint it's alot easier to work with

Check the laws in your state. In PA, there are no limits on the back windows and back side windows for trucks and SUVs. Nothing was ever mentioned about color.
