lol at waxing scratches away, that will never happen. wax will fill the scratches and make them appear to disappear temporarily but will not remove them. as others have said, the only way to remove them (as long as the scratches arent all the way through the clear and into the color) is with a rubbing compound and a rotary buffer. running trails is tough on paint! lol

I work for a car detail shop. we use all profesional grade stuff. ( compounds) they work great and use a buffer. ive seen some rough vehicals and we have ben able to get a lot out. if you have one near by u might see what they charge about?

It looks like everyone has fine products and ideas to remove scratches..

But the handiest solution is to just leave them!

Lol at "desert pinstripe," over here we call it "pine stripping" cause we wheel in the pines.

nice! I use my truck, I know the body is gonna get its dents and scratches. but mechanically though you will not find a more sound drivetrain, electrical sys or suspension than what my o4 has under her black paint.

not to thread jack just another mans viewpoint.

I don't know what kind of scratches the OP is dealing with here or how bad they are but I got my new Pace Edwards roll top put on today and the installer scratched the crap out of both rear corners of my truck bed just on either side of the tailgate. These would be comparable to scratches branches would put on your truck out 4-wheelin'.

I broke out my 3M 3M Perfect-It III Machine Glaze, PN 05937 and it took the scratches right off. It's great stuff.

Yeah, I know I should have driven all the way back down there and bitched, made them do it, but price of fuel, I'd do a better job anyway, etc. I just took care of it. But they will hear about it the next time I am in. This is an exception rather than a rule as they have always taken real good care of me previously. Looked like a new kid installler to me that I'd never seen before.

Nice roll top, BTW. Got the new all aluminum one that's powder coated, no more vinyl cover to constantly clean, condition, and have fade over time.
