I know this sounds very redneck but I was just wondering if it was possible for me to put longer lugs on the back of my ranger and put a couple skinny tires on each side so I can make a homemade dually. Any suggestions for parts or tire sizes are welcome thanks.

i wouldnt mess with that, if you get a good set of tires your weakest point isnt your tires, its your suspension and powertrain. your axle will bend before you have tire over load issues if you got a D or E rated tire. not to mention the extra stress it would put on your axle shafts and bearings...

Depends on the state.

Some states require a certain amount of tire coverage. If you just have an open tire in those states, you'll get pulled over and ticketed.

There are kits to make your Ranger a dually, but I don't feel like looking them up.
