Default Side rail brackets

The side rail brackets on my 2011 Ranger Sport FX4 are "C" channel brackets that hold the side rails and they face forward. They also catch and hold snow and ice (and now mud).

Can you reverse or switch the left side to the right side to eliminate this, so that the flat back would now be facing forward and won't catch and trap snow, ice and mud?

Hope that makes sense.
