Which do you all think looks better and is there any pros and cons or more of an advantage to either one?

Oh and is it true that for the in channel you need to let them "sit" for two days or they won't seal properly???

get the in channel for sure, they look alot better IMO. i have had the in channel ones on my truck for several years with no issues at all.

I finally replaced my old ones (they were broke when I bought the truck back in 97-98) with a set I bought from a member here.

It's best to leave the windows rolled up for a couple days just to make sure the adhesive sticks to everything as well as possible.
After that, have it at.

I've used the stick-on visors on other vehicles & while they work, they're more noticeable than the in-channel style.

In channel!!! To me, the others look like they don't belong. I went to the "hood" today to a junkyard and on the way I noticed a lot of "outside the channel" cracked and broken vent shades. The channel provides support and protection for the plastic. If you go to my album you can see a "not so clear picture" of my AVS brang vent shades. However, you will get the idea. I also suggest buying the AVS matching bug guard, both of which I purchased at Auto Zone. I probably did not get the best deal but I don't really know. But, you can also see a "not so clear" pic of my bug guard. They both really dress up my truck and took like 45 minutes to install and costed a little over a benjamin. The hardest part was removing the seal from the hood and putting it back properly with the bug guard. Get er Done! And I'm spent!

I bought the in channel,will be installing them when temps here get and stay at least 60 degrees I also got bed rail caps for all sides of the bed,just waiting for good weather hope it gets here soon!

Great minds think alike. I'm not going to lie I am not much of an auto mechanic. I have spent a few minutes under a hood LOL but I ain't no grease monkey. However, when it comes to making vehicles look dressed up I am pretty good at making them look sharp and keeping them functional. The vent shades are nice when you are on a highway and you want just a little wind but don't want to get blown away. Or you can crack em a little and allow a little "venting" in the summer. The main reason for my bug guard was "bugs" obviously and to cover up a few rock dings and prevent future ones. It looks pretty tough though too!

In channel since 2001. I never had or liked the ones that stick on your paint. My first set for my 2001 had to be special ordered from a truck accessories place as everyone else including Wal Mart stocked the stick on the paint ones. Now I can find the in channel ones about anywhere.
