A drop in liner can ruin the bed in the long run. Roll on's are fairly cheap nowadays.

As long a you mask off properly you should be fine, hardest part will be sanding the bed.

Get a buddy and a 12 pack, few hours and bam! But If you do decide on a drop in make sure to take it out and clean from time to time.

im confused as well, im thinking that with little to effort i can get the job done by dropping in a liner? sanding would not be worth it.

Most drop in liners will let moisture and dirt get under it causing rust. A roll on liner doesn't allow that to happen.

Re: bed liner help
Just drop in a liner. The worst that can happen Is the bed liner scratches up your bed, or *maybe* traps water underneath it. It isn't gonna make your bed fall off or anything. I just pulled the bed liner out from my F100, and my bed didn't have any signs of rust, or any more scratches than it already had. That truck has sat for a year and a half now, which is more than enough time for the bed liner to do damage.

If you use the truck for work it matters... Going to the store and back won't. Still your choice.

Re: bed liner help
Most of the moisture under the drop in liner shall be displaced as soon as the truck moves. The worst moisture you'll have is so miniscule that there's no way it could even dream of rusting as soon as you make it sound. The water would have to sit for quite some time before oxidation would start.

Re: bed liner help
I had one in my last bed, and it rusted the bed, the drain holes in the front were clogged, and alot of dirt leaves pine needles and some pebbles made their way under it, id reccomend a roll in, or come off the wallet and get one sprayed in
