anyone have any good led tail light bulbs? i jsut tinted my tail lights and it looks good i just would feel alittle more comfortable if the break lights were alittle brighter.

Maybe you shouldn't have made your tail lights so dark then.

well i did static tint and the only static was 20% and i didnt wanna spray paint them cuz then id be screwed if i didnt like it... i jsut wanted to know if anyone changed out their stock tail light bulb with and led....ill run the risk

You can do the L1224R tilight mod. They are the same bulbs found in the new mustangs.

BTW!!! It is reversible! I just tinted mine, I started with the 3rd brake light to "learn". I used a plastic specific clear coat.. as soon as i shot it, it started pulling up the Rustoleum Lens Tint.. Just let it dry and wet sanded it down with 600 grit. I then used rubbing alcohol and it took all the lens tint off.

I just did hella lights on my friend JEEP, we were rushing and go carried away on one of the coats of clear, to heavy.. it bubbled up.. Took paint thinner and some scrubbing, back to stock lights in no time.

Ill be posting pics of mine once I get the truck clean, they turned out great. I think they show really good.

film tint at 20% means 20% light transmission.
VHT nightshade ans rustoleum lens tint is like 95% transmission if done 3 coats n under

With the tails tinted that dark, I'm not sure if any plug-n-play led would make a tremendous difference.

The L1224R mods I've seen pics of here are nice, but quite expensive as I remember.

X2 on the L1224R taillights. They are bright as crap and they only cost me $75 shipped about 2 years ago so they can probably be found cheaper that more cars use them. It is a easy mod to do and I love mine

pics? and do they function as a brake light AND tail light? and simulate a double filament incandescent bulb (2nd filament lights up when you hit the brakes)?

I've been using some 63 red led 3157 led's in my turn signals for a while & I've been pretty happy with them.
Should note that I have modded 01 tails with 2 bulbs in the red brake light section for brake & turn signals...

I've got some 109 led bulbs on the way & I'm hoping they'll be even brighter.
I might even have an extra set of the 63 red led bulbs around here too.
