35 and 55 both will not melt your housings or anything

35w HID = 3200-3400 lumens
55w HID = 5000 lumens

55w HALOGEN = 900-1200 lumens

In all honestly, 35w is PLENTY bright for street driving. If you are concerned about being too bright, I can also custom order a 25 watt HID kit from my supplier, but I believe it actually costs more

Typically when you see a nice Merc or Porsche coming at you do they have 35 watt?
Where i live i do a lot of hwy driving and its dark and curvy so bright is great but when someone is coming the other way you/they are always blind because with so few cars coming at you we tend to grasp a little night vision between oncomers. So 35 is probly what i am after,no need to go lower than typical or brighter but i would love to see some pics.

Those are typically 35w HIDs that you see in all the newer cars

i am with beef, i have the 35w 5k, i love em, i dont have the picture like you want tho, i think the only way i would go brighter (55w) is for off road only lights.
