Default Bed liner

I am a bit overwhelmed looking at all the bed liner options. Plastic ones vs spray on. I am leaning toward a spray on doing it myself. My son does body work and he told me it would not be hard for him to spray one in and do all the prep. My question is what is best spray on or plastic and if you do spray on what brand. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Thanks.

I've got a half inch thick Z Liner (Same people who do Rhino liner I think). It's stood up to everything I've thrown at it so far, and it still looks pretty when cleaned out.

please read this, this is a nice alternative:

http://www.fordrangerforum.com/exterior-tech/16161-another-brand-diy-bedliner-spray-too.html

also read this. a roll on is only as good as the prep:

i have rhinoliner and ever since ive gotten it ive wanted line x, maybe if i had gotten the other rhino liner i woulda been fine but i got the tuff grip and when its wet or even dirty it loses its grip and doesnt look all that aggressive...

dont get me wrong JUST to have a spray on bedliner I LOVE MY BEDLINER, just wish i had chosen the right one like the hardline!

if you choose to have a professional do it which is fine, make sure u keep the warranty reciepts because my bedliner started peeling due to the GUYS not the bedliner not doing their job properly...i had them redo the area for free and i gave them a set time limit to do it. made me really mad

anyways spray on is the way to go but be sure its something you want to do because it is permenant (basically) and doesnt rust your bed or warp like plastic ones also it doesnt get as hot (to the touch) in the summer as plastic ones

Credibility: ive had both.

Thanks for calling me out! I just measured and its more around 1/3 inch or so. But thats only towards the edges where I could measure. It was put on the truck by the previous owner. Would that REALLY be that heavy??

Talking Re: Bed liner

iv'e got a tuff liner plastic bed, like the looks as far as the wheel wells has that nice toy look. It's an original teflon 3/8" thick, but it's hard to keep clean compared to spray on,but a danger to the bed as far as rain it's water tight we get a downpour i have to move my truck to let the water drain out, nice for fishing tho,3 buckets a water instant live well. It's been on the bed for 23 years no rust yet n still looks new just needs some sort of cleaning.

Plus +1 on the comments for Line-X I love mine...

One friend of mine did the Duplicolor spray it yourself and it looks now it looks crappy with lots of damage and scrapped off. Probably would be fine if you don't use the bed very much.

Another friend got Rhino liner and it's already got tears out of it.
