Arrow Ask all HID questions here

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A QUESTION, OR DO NOT WANT TO LEARN ABOUT HIDs, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR UNNECESSARY COMMENTS IN ANOTHER THREAD

I will gladly answer as many HID questions as I can.

I have noticed over time, viewing many different forums, that people have a lot of questions about HIDs that I can answer.

I am just here to help

Feel free to send me a PM as well

What kind of price would I be looking at to do a quality HID install on a 03 Ranger Edge?

A normal, 55w halogen bulb is 900-1200 lumens

A standard 35w HID kit (at 4.3k to 6k) is 3200 lumens

A 55w HID kit is 5000 lumens

So to answer your question, YES
A 35w HID kit will be about 3X brighter than your stock halogen lights and a 55w HID kit will be around 5X brighter than your stock lights

All a projector does is "focuses" the light more outward

You don't have to have projectors to have HIDs. HIDs will be plenty bright without them. I have customers daily that I install HID kits in their stock housing. In all honestly, a stock housing might be better than a projector because your stock housing will scatter the light everywhere, instead of focused like a projector

Another personal opinion here, it's your vehicle

I bought a pair of $60 100Wat spot lights for my brush guard.

If I replace the 100wat bulb with a 35Wat 6k HID bulb will it be brighter?

I want the bulb to match my 6k HID headlights. Thanks for your help.

If you are satisfied then there is no need to upgrade

If you want way more lighting to see better at night: get HIDs

I have been looking at HIDS for awhile and have a few questions
I like the halo headlights with the whole new housing
Are these legal in PA?
I'd like a blueish light so looking in the range of 6000to 10000k
Is it legal to have the blueish ones in new housings?
Whats the best HID kit with use of the stock housing?
Whats the best HID Halo kit?
Are HID kits using stock housing legal in PA?
I know quite a few questions but would apppreciate if you could answer them

I am not familiar with the laws in PA. You will have to check them online or at city hall.

Mainly white with light blue - 6k
Light blue - 6k
Not quite dark blue, but close - 8k

Can someone that is familiar with PA laws please chime in here?

There isnt really such thing as a "best kit to use in a housing" all HID kits will primarily be the same (except for quality and colors differ between companies)

According to PA law and inspection rules they would fail because they are illegal but it's kinda like the white elephant as in everyone knows that they are illegal but no ones says/does anything about it unless you run into that one dick head cop or that one really strict inspection station
