HID hi/ Lo kit should have come with a relay harness that you need to
Wire in. Your hi and Lo beam are both in the same bulb

I just bought the 6k HID lo/hi, before I had 6k lo beams. One of the new ballast's do not work. So I'm using a ballast from my 6k lo beam.
The only difference of the two are the new ballast have 10a lin max. My 6k lo have a 5.5a lin max. Is this why my lights are stuck on high?
I have made sure I have good ground, and good connections. I also have after market headlight houseing's.

Re: Ask all HID questions here
Some kits to stay away from when purchasing:
1: eBay kits
2: Xentec
I have heard NOTHING but bad reviews about both of these kits

Sounds like you may have the high & low wires mixed up.

Not necessarily. There are two kinds of hi/lo kits advertised. One uses a HID low beam, and a halogen bulb. The other uses a single HID bulb for both.
So to answer the question, no you do not need another pair, you just need to ensure you buy the appropriate kit.

I've ran an eBay HID kit for years on my truck with no problems, I know many people on this forum (as well as other forums) would say the same thing.

Not saying the kits don't work. I'm
Just saying I've heard more complaints than good things about the kits

Over time, HID bulbs will "settle" and shift colors due to typical use. I have seen this happen on a few kits.

Re: Ask all HID questions here
So a 9007 HID hi/low kit will typically be one HID bulb or will it be halogen hi and HID low? (if it is the type that has the wire in harness?) which sort of kit would you recommend?

A true HID hi/low kit will have a single HID bulb that adjusts positions for high beam output. A cheaper alternative is a hi/low kit where there is a HID low beam bulb and a halogen high beam bulb.
To get the right kit you essentially just need to double check with the business to verify what exactly they mean when they claim their kit is hi/low.
100% hands down recommend a HID high beam & HID low beam kit.
Checkout ddmtuning.com they have great prices.

Yea, I have had good luck with DDM, both for my mazda3 (skim ballasts) and my gf's cx-7 (raptors). I wasn't sure with these dual hi/lo 9007s in the ranger though...
Appreciate the advice

Re: Ask all HID questions here
Hi I recently purchased bixenon lights from ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_3226wt_1165) and it just said replace the stock bulbs with those ones. I did that and they work but they sent me 4 bulbs. Two of them are kind of slanted and two of them are straight. I installed the straight ones because they were the ones that fit right but I have no clue what the other ones are for or if I did something wrong. Also my truck is a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT stock.

Re: Ask all HID questions here
Im also looking at getting the Halo Projector Head Lights with a HID Kit and have a few simple questions.
1.) Are HID kits universal with all headlight housings?
2.) If so, I go online, buy the Halo Headlights and an HID Kit, will that be everything I need to convert my current headlights?
3.) Are HID Kits also compatable with fog lights? Or is it a seperate kit than the headlights?
Thanks!

You got ripped off. Those bulbs do nothing more than stock, and are actually probably worse than stuck. They are not bixenon lights like you think, reading an eBay description is very important. As the eBay description states, they are "Brand New Halogen Light Bulbs."

1) HID kits are universal. HID bulbs are not.
2) Not sure
3) See #1. You can buy the same kit, just need to get specific bulbs for your fog socket.

Well, it looks like you have to pay to ship them back so you're out some $$$ either way. But yeah, I would still return them.
