I think dupont would do well, But it is an opinion. I know Krylon makes paints for metals but I'm not sure if it would hold up on rims too well

ghow much work are you planning on putting into them? if you sand blast them down or sand them by hand and do all the prep work i would say a dupont paint, but if your just gonna clean them off or rough em up i would just get a krylon, and do really light coats and let it dry between coats.

I've used every product on the market.. wanna go cheap? $.99 flat black from walmart made by color-place,..... or gloss? use dupli-color high temp engine paint. both these product far surpass $6-$10 cans of spray paint..
dnt remove the finish on the wheels, its already a sealed surface, paint will stick to the oem finish better that the metal... if you take down to the metal, you have to etch prime to get adhesion to the unsealed metal...
steps..
with oem finish you scuff and paint, DONE
unsealed surface, you etch prime, scuff, 2k prime, scuff, then paint... way to many unnecessary steps..

I did my rims with Duplicolor Rims paint and Clear and it's great paint very easy to work with.

Duplicolor graphite wheel paint. It's an etching paint so no primer and it is great stuff to work with. http://www.duplicolor.com/products/wheelCoating/
I cleaned the rim before painting with grease and wax remover http://www.duplicolor.com/products/greaseWaxRemover/ and a tack cloth.

Then Duplicolor wheel clear
