Default First Post / Recommended MTB Bike Racks?

Hi this is my first post in the Ford Ranger Forum! I live in the So Cal area and as such I enjoy a lot of outdoor activities. At work I noticed that a fellow employee has a locking bike rack in the back of his Tacoma. I was wondering if any MTB enthusiasts in this forum could recommend any locking bike racks for a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT Super Cab. The bed of my Ranger is shortened by the Super Cab but I think it will still fit a bike without an extender gate. Here are 2 options I've come across:

http://www.yakima.com/shop/bike/truc...ocking-bedhead

http://www.rockymounts.com/Clutch_SD_p/011.htm

If anyone can offer any advice which locking rack would be better let me know. I'll attach pics of the two racks to this thread. I have a bed liner so it seems the less hardware I need to use to mount the brackets the better. Thanks for your help!

Either should be good but I think the Clutch SD would be more secure since it bolts on.

So RockyMounts got back to me today and this is what they said:

"Since the Ranger does not have factory tracks like Toyota or Nissan I would go with the Locking Clutch. You will have to have a place to hard mount it."

And this is the product that they recommended:
http://www.rockymounts.com/Locking_Clutch_p/012.htm

Definitely a more cost effective ($49.95 instead for the RockyMounts Locking Clutch instead of $72-$80 for the Yakima Locking BedHead) alternative to the Yakima Bedhead.

I also found this video on Youtube describing the installation / mounting of the bike using the RockyMounts Clutch SD:

While were on the topic does anyone know where I can buy a bed rail track system for my Ranger? Did Ford start manufacturing this accessory to stay competitive with Toyota / Nissan?

Thanks again for your help. This forum has opened a whole new perspective on what I can accomplish with my Ranger.

Two other great products that a friend (who rides daily) recommended for me:

Thule 501 - Instagator:

Thule 822XT Bed Rider Pickup Truck Bike Rack:

Think that should answer most questions related to mounting bikes in the bed of your truck!
