Default factory fender flairs

i was wondering how the factory fender flairs were fastened around the top?
i know there;s some screws in the wheel well lip that have to be removed but did ford use double sided tape for the part that touches the painted surface or not? i was headed to the local u-pull it yard monday morning and was thinking about what to get while i was looking for my explorer cargo rack and my other "50" items of interest.

They have like those panel fasteners and then there are holes that go into the bed.

f you do put them on your truck your gonna have to drill holes to do it the factory way

I don't think mine have any type of tape behind them. If there was, I don't think I'd get so much dirt and crap between the flare and the fender when I wheel.

I was thinking at work today

You could probably get away with double sided tape as long as u use the 3M brand since there are screws that hold it on at the bottom

Yeah I would at least try taping them before I started drilling up my fenders. The 3M tape, if applied to a properly prepared surface, is excellent stuff.
