btw, I was planning on getting the 9007/hi&lo kit...wouldn't that enable me to use the HID for DRL and NRL?
Nope. The DRL function uses either reduced voltage or pulsed power to operate the lights at a reduced power. You can not hook and HID ballast or a relay up to that. You have to disable the DRL system first. I think you just unplug a DRL module under the dash somewhere but I'm not totally sure.

No. And don't buy it just in case either silly, waste of money. As I said earlier, the hi/low kits already come with a harness that connects to the battery. You won't even be able to use the second one you buy. And the low beam only kits absolutely 100% do not need it.

Sorry I was mistaken. It's for their BMW angel fairy eye things (http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDE-Relay-Harness). I must have read DRL while skimming lol.

I did some searching on the DRL controls for the Rangers. On 2006 and newer, there is nothing you can do to disconnect them. It is programming in the smart junction box. Only a dealer can plug in and reprogram it to disable them. I doubt a canadian dealer will do that since its illegal to not have them.

The simple solution then, is this. As you may have noticed, when you put the parking brake on, the DRL's shut off. There is a wire going to the parking brake pedal. Remove it from the pedal and just ground it permanently somewhere down there. The DRL's will never come on as long as that wire is grounded. Then take the bulb out of the parking brake indicator light on the dash . Problem solved. Hope the cops don't care.

yes its YZ. and the only problem with grounding the pbrake signal is that youll have a "dinger" go off when you drive. at least my 2010 xl does.

Like the door ajar "dinger"? That's an easy fix to turn off. It's in the how-to section, I think you just yank the relay out or bend one of the tabs...

I wonder when they started making it ding when the brake is set. My '03 doesn't. Hopefully his '09 doesn't either.
