Yup T-55. Had to buy one to get mine off. Get it in a 1/2" drive, and use a breaker bar to make the job easier. I had to do it with a 3/8" drive ratchet, and it wasn't easy.

Don't heat the bed bolts, unnecessary, and kinda dangerous. They'll come out with a bit of persuasion, and some penetrating oil. Or in my case, just persuasion, since rust wasn't an issue yet.

ok everyone that is super scared to have an torch with in 20 feet of their gas tank needs to calm down. i have used my torch many times next to the gas tank. i never put it right at the gas tank. i used it on the front leaf spring bolt when i swapped in explorer leaf springs.

^haha, I'm super scared, yes, I'll admit that putting a torch THAT close is a bit much for me. haha.

But seriously your not going to strip a T55, just get that with a half inch socket drive and a long ass metal tube over the handle and ppppuuuusssshhhhh!

While on the subject.

Is it necessary to remove the fuel tank to get to the bed bolt drivers side " the cab end, if so, what to watch for
92, (7`bed) 6 bolts
Thanks Ian

definetly heat them up and spray pb blaster on them before u even get to the job..And like somebody else said the drivers side closest to the cab is right in the frame rail next to the gas tank..make sure u go slow and dont break it..trust me cause when i did my body lift i broke it and had to pull the whole bed off to get that clip that the torq or hex bolt goes into off the frame..shitty job

I just pulled my bed off a 94 ranger with 6 bolts with a 3/8" drive ratchet. The key was to break the bolts I could, then head out to my buddy's place who has the air tools to break the other two that wouldnt budge for me. No worries!
