Default 99' Bed Liner flew out on the road, fasteners?

Hi,

I have owned my 99' Ranger for about two years. Went to town one day and when I got there the bed liner was no longer in the back of my truck. I found it, but I need to get the correct hardware and fasten that sucker down, because I don't want to cause an accident! (don't want to lose my liner for good either) I have gone to O'Riellys, Bumper to Bumper, the Ford Dealer, and to Walmart. None of these places carry any type of fasteners. I have looked online and so far have found nothing. Perhaps I just don't know what to look for? A friend of mine said the fasteners are similar to those things that you stick through the wall and then they expand, but on a larger scale. Need your help, thanks!

Do the spray in bed liner mod... you'll be much happier.

Don't they cost about $450? I make $50 a week and spend $35-40 of it driving to college each week, so I need something affordable.

Hmmm on my 00 I had tie down points in the bed that bolt down on the sides and it held the liner in , mines a steppie though. Another open is the do it yourself spray in liner,

blkranger231, I might be interested in doing a spray liner myself eventually. However, at least for the time being I would like to get my bed liner fastened down. BTW, the liner is a rugged liner, don't know if that helps anything, but thought I would mention it.

Concrete bricks. Cheap, yet they work. Just make sure you have a tailgate.

If You have the holes on it for the tie down hook things just run some bungie chords or a tie down strap threw them. Thats what I did before I got my toolbox.

10-4, I understand... Maybe Remove the bed bolts and drill holes in the bed liner in the proper spots and put the bolt through the liner and then into the bed?

Just a thought...

After having 25 rangers I have seen 3 different types of liners. The over the rail type and 2 different under the rail types. The over the rail liner and one of the under rail types use these round plastic hold downs that go into the side of the liner and hold against the bottom edge of the bed rail. The other type of under rail type have to be inserted by installing one side and then the other by actually fitting under the rail tightly(the kind I have) If yours has round holes along the upper edge I might have some hold downs for it

Go to the local hardware store & grab half a dozen stainless steel carriage bolts, nuts & washers. Drill some holes through the liner & bed (don't drill through lines or wires) push the bolts through the liner into the bed, put washers & nuts on from under the bed, tighten down, no more loose liner.
Should set you back about $6 - $10 and some time drilling holes & bolting everything down.
