Default Line of fire

Will a 49" line of fire fit my 01 ranger flare box? I measured my tailgate and its only 46". I was wondering if there was any way to make it fit.

it;s the red strip of led's under the tailgate that lights up with your trailer plug. it has tail/brake/turn signals

Bah! I don't like cutting if I can help it. That's why I did the blinker mod my own way...
