Exclamation Tailgate support

Hey guys just picked up my `11 Ranger and I was wondering if your rangers have this little bit of weirdness or is mine just a ford defect. my support cable that hold the tailgate when its down, the right one (passenger side) is at full tension and the left one (driver`s) still has a lot of slack. just wondering if perhaps one of my cables is longer then the other, is my tailgate offset or is it normal? any insight would help.

You should have 3yr bumper to bumper warranty tell the dealer to fix it. :^)

Showed it to the dealer, They suggested cutting the one That was too long. lol i told them wouldn't that put my tailgate off level. "Oops, it would indeed". How about just getting a new one instead of trying a quick fix ford.

ive never had a truck where both cables were the exact same length. i got 2 sets of brand new cables from ford for both my ranger and my F-150 and one is slightly shorter than the other on both trucks. its no big deal, once i put even a little weight on the gate they both get tight. never had any issues from it.

Andy, Mine is the same as yours, drivers side as well. I figured one side was from a extended cab while the other one is from a standard cab as Ford is just using left over parts on the 2011's anyway.
I don't sweat it because if one breaks either Ford or I will replace it.
