Camper Shell/Cap/Topper for Stepsides
I have a 99 stepside, and I know that the shells are rare enough, but are there any companies that make the shells without that nasty taper right behind the cab? Something that follows the shape of the bed more closely?

Re: Camper Shell/Cap/Topper for Stepsides
Never seen it except that way. It is usually that way to cover the entire rear window on the ones that use a boot on the back of the shell instead of window.

I've never seen one either. It's the reason I don't have camper top.

Re: Camper Shell/Cap/Topper for Stepsides

Re: Camper Shell/Cap/Topper for Stepsides
You should go with a tonneau cover. They look great on step sides.

Re: Camper Shell/Cap/Topper for Stepsides
Thanks everyone for the responses. Probably this summer if I can get my hands on some pieces of lumber I will build a camper like KF5EQV's. I found a fiberglass locking color-matched tonneau with hydraulic lift for 200 bucks on craigslist a week ago, I'll have that on my truck for now. It looks pretty good.

Re: Camper Shell/Cap/Topper for Stepsides
I prefer this look.
But I put the shell on when I need to carry larger things.

+1, I see those all the time. I mean, when I see a Flareside with a camper shell.

Re: Camper Shell/Cap/Topper for Stepsides
Pbav8tor, I really love those stripes. Are they vinyl or paint? I could probably do something the opposite, with black stripes on white background.
Here is my truck. I take pride in those stock wheels.
With an XXX upskirt shot of the new tonneau I got.
It protects my shit, which is mostly what I wanted.
