Hey I am thinking about getting my windows tinted. I have tint already on my passenger and driver side window but that is removable. But the problem is my back window it has factory tint that is between the the glasses, and the guy was telling me the only way i can tint that is if i get a new window that is clear. I am wondering is this true? Because i only took it too one shop so far.

My back window and two side windows are factory tinted

Thanks, I am going to try a different guy. That guy was telling me if i tint it, I will only be able to see dark on the inside but not from the outside.

But sense you said it is not true i am going to try a different tint shop.

someone lied to u my back window was factory tinted somewhere between 35 and 20% and i tinted over it before... i took it off cause i got a back window picture and that tints somewat to... my driver and passenger windows have 2 layers of tint i did myself. i have 20% and i went back and put 20% over that so my side windows are at 4% right now and they r still clear (no blurry look) when u look through em. i advise doin it urself its not that hard really and its only 10 bucks for a roll thatll do both driver and passenger windows if u need help ive done it several times just holler at me

Yeah, i called the guy back i guess i misunderstood him because he was a foreign. But i called him back and asked him and he said he does it or like 95 for all the windows and a lifetime warranty. I might do that because me and sticky stuff i always screw it up.

He was telling me he can just tint over it and tint over my passenger and driver windows if there nothing wrong with the tint that's on there already.

Well it cost extra money to remove the tint..

But question...

Is it fine for him to just tint over the tint i have on there? Will it peel or anything?

I also get a lifetime warranty i think. But i just want to make sure it is fine to tint over tint.

The guy is full of crap and sounds like he doesnt want to do the work anyway. I would go to a reputable place, it may cost a bit more but well worth it

He is a good place. My farther got his windows tinted there. And alot of people know about him.

He is a little Asian guy that owns a shop. But would it be fine if he tints over the tint i have? Because it is not peeling or nothing.

(No offense to the Asians that might be on this site!)

Its fine, factory tint is smoked glass, thats all. Same surface finish so you will be fine

Thats what i thought. But my passenger and side windows i had gotten those tint along time ago. So it has a film of tint on it already thats the thing.

if your passenger window already has some sort of tint i would try and peel it off so both sides are the same. but that's just because i'm super OCD and it'd bug me.. haha.
