Default # 1 t-bar question

i tried this question in the suspension forum but had no responces, so i will try here

For those of you that have #1 t-bars, i need a measurement.
I need to know what your measurement is from the center of your hub to the lip of your fender well. Also can you say how far they are cranked if any. I want to know approx how much lift #1s will give me. Especially now with the added weight of the plow, i think i really need the extra weight capacity of the #1s

I have "Bs rigth now that are beat and turned up w 19 1/2"

I dont have any measurements but if they are cranked all the way or a good amount than it should be actually alil taller in front, or if you have the plow on it should sit just about right.

Could you actually get a measurement? I know my t-bars are beat but i didnt think that bad. That would give me almost 5" of lift

Cant believe there is noone else that has #1 t-bars

maybe we don't want to go out and do a measurement because every trucks measurement will be different. Hell, some might tell you from there trucks hub to the fender is 19 inches, another might be 28, another 24...
just go crank your bars until you are satisfied. also, no torsion bar has ever given anyone 5 inches of lift. maybe 3, if maxed out.

From the center of my hub cap where it says ford to the top middle of the fender is just under 25 inches but im also lifted (I should have mentioned that earlier because that makes a big difference). your will prolly be around 20-22 depending on how much your bars are cranked, etc.

Cranking your torsion bars will usually give you an inch or 2 of front end lift. As machine stated they can max out to about 3 inches but again thats just totally stupid to do. Usually with #1 bars you can actually get the front to sit just as high if not a tad higher than the stock rear or atleast I could, but that doesnt mean you should and it will ride awful n put more wear n tear on parts.

Usually about an inch or so of front end rake looks good without having to crank your bars more but not looking so nosed down and ugly. If your running a plow id def suggest to switch to #1 bars if yours are in fact shot n cant get hardly any lift out of them.

Anymore help just ask and ill try n check into the thread as much as I can throughout the day.

I currrently have the B code t-bars and they are MAXED out. And the truck still is raked about 3-4" to the front. I wanted to see what a set of #1s would do for my truck, hence the question asked.

well 20-22" is a 1/2-2 1/2" over what i have right now. How far do you have your t-bars adjusted?

I just think my stockers are so beat, ANY t-bar will give me lift to make me level, but i am also wanting the extra weight capacity to help w the weight of the plow

well 20-22" is a 1/2-2 1/2" over what i have right now. How far do you have your t-bars adjusted?
Hmm ok take away my lift then im around 21.5 to 22 inches as we speak. Ill get some better pics tomorrow. But HERES the day I bought the truck with bars not being cranked at all.

You can see how the bars arent cranked at all and it was wayyy nosed down, its hard to remember but im pretty sure this was around high 19's or 20 or somewhat around what you are now.

I cranked mine alot almost to maxed out n my nose was prolly around 22 or 22.5 inches so I gained about the full 2.5 or so that you can get from having n cranking #1 bars.

The ride sucked and my shocks had no travel so i lowered it a tad maybe about an inch or .75 of an inch which would put me down around 21.75 give or take a tiny bit. Its hard to get it perfect just going by eye and a tape measure plus trying to find level ground, etc, etc. (So at this point here my bars are prolly half cranked or just over a half cranked) (The pic you see now being with them hardly cranked at all/not at all)

Then I added my 3 inch lift which put me around 24.75 to 25 inches which is what I am at currently. I will be adding my lift shackles to the rear and cranking them back up some with brand new shocks which hopefully wont be as bad as it originally was back when I first got the truck and cranked em way up with stock shocks. Im hoping that how my truck feels now will be the same when I crank my bars up alil bit again and add brand new shocks on. (atleast thats the hope)

So in the end ill be around 25.5 to 26 inches up front from center of my hub cap when all said and done but again I am lifted and you are not. But that explains everything ive went through and should give you a good idea of where you need to be. Ill try and take a pic tomorrow of how the truck sits right now and update this for u. Hope this helps cause I def put some effort into this for you beens I know how frusturating it can be posting stuff, abunch of people reading it, but not commenting and helping all while knowing there are tons of people on here that could help you ya know. But yeah hope this helps some, just keep asking away and ill try and do what I can when I can....Zach.

Heres some pics. My yard is higher then the driveway so its hard to get a straight on side shot. I had to kneel all the way down so thats why the pics look they way they do. I really didnt wanna post pics yet because I have stock tiny 235's lol and I havent put on my new rims and 33's yet, but I decided I would to help you out. The trucks ugly ride now but you get the idea.

This is cranked half way or alil more. Front end is just a tad sloped down but it looks almost level on eneven ground. SO without the lift my fender would be at 21.75-22 inches.
