we got everything ready but we cant find a way to run the wire to the inside of the cab through the firewall to the inside of the truck. Anyone know??

Around the steering shaft there are some factory wires coming through. Run them through (notice picture I posted)


OR

Drill a hole in the firewall for this, remove the fuse box pictured and you will be able to see where you can safely drill a hole.





To drill the hole use a step drill bit, it will drill through it like butter. You can use tape or a marker to mark the bit so you know when to stop.

The hole is drilled, do not forget to use a rubber grommet. If you don't use one your wire will chafe and short. You can pick up a small box for a few bucks at a local hardware store.

Thanks STL!! We got that down now and just like finding wire to wire in with a hot wire that only works with the ignition on and possibly If it can be done only when the low beam is on .. suggestions cause we dont know?

Ok read that and so did my dad.. the PIAAs arnt set up like that. Everything is hooked up right except for one wire has to go to a hot wire that is only hot when the switch is on. He doesnt want to go under the dash.. he'd like to tie them in to the low beam on the headlights but doesnt know what wire. Any idea?

Only wire I can think of would be the radio power wire as it is switched when the truck is turned on.

X1,000 on the rubber grommet for the wire thru the firewall... unless you can slip the wire in with another OEM grommet or make a little X cut in a rubber plug & push the wire through it & seal it with silicone.

If you can't find one (or a big pkg) locally for $1 or less let me know, I have a bunch of grommets in all sizes.

we got em! Dad managed to cut some of the rubber away then file a small gap into the plastic around it so it could slide through. Thank you for the help guys we would still be out there without it!

i ran my line for the hellas down along with the red brake light wires, drilled a hole in the bottom of the cab, and ran them up through there.
