Thumbs up 2007 Ranger XLT- Adding Fog Lights

Hey guys,

I want to add fog lights and I need some advice,

I was thinking about getting the factory ones to add on... I Also want to have the factory light switch to turn them on.

Any input, I am not against aftermarket ones just have no idea where to start with those.

Thanks.

the hellas are good, comes with the relays and wiring. You can do an OEM switch as well. As far as wiring the OEM switch you need to mod your bezel. I got a bezel with the OEM switch and all the wiring from Buggman, I had everything up and working within a half hour

Hmmm, interesting, I guess I should add that I want to use the factory bumper locations for the lights. And I would like to use the Factory Light switch, 2 steps to the right and Out for fogs...

Thanks for the reply!

Another question! Is the factory wiring already installed on the rangers so that if I purchased the lights and new switch it would be a plug and play kind of thing or do I need to wire them in too?

Some trucks will have the light connectors behind the grille & the switch connector behind the radio bezel, but aren't active. Only way to test is to get oem light connectors & a fog switch, plug 'em in & see what happens.

My kits bypass all the OEM wiring & allow you to run the fog lights independent of the headlights. You can use OEM lights or aftermarket lights with my kits.

Would that be to the left of the radiator and look like it has a cap on the end, Just below the air filter box?

and radio bezel?

There should be 2 black plastic wiring connectors, one on the driver's side, one on the pass side behind the bumper or grille area... should be about 2" long, about 5/8" in diameter with a squared locating notch. The newer trucks may use a different looking plug connector, but they should be in the same basic areas.

Behind the radio bezel, there should be a connector similar to:

Not the entire wire harness, that's my wiring kit, but the little yellow/black plug towards the bottom will be the fog switch connector. It's probably yellow/gray, but I have some yellow/black connectors that I use. It will have 4 wires coming out the back, red/black, black/blue, tan/orange & black.

That will be the fog switch connector.

i dont see anything similar to that near the bumper... so I guess Ill have to wire them in too?

to check where the wiring kit would be behind the radio bezel I would need to remove my stereo correct?

I'm not 100% sure on what the newer fog light connectors look like, hopefully someone will chime in, but if you can't find 2 two wire plugs behind the bumper area chances are you won't be pre-wired. It's not that big of a deal, I bypass the OEM connectors & use some male/female crimp connectors on the lights/wiring so I can still unplug the lights if need be.

You don't have to remove the radio from the bezel for the wiring kit mod; there's 2 hex nuts right above the hvac panel, remove them & pull gently around the sides, bottom & top of the bezel & it should all pop right out as a unit... there's about 4 springy clips holding it in place too.

Once you have it loose from the dash, pull it out gently... not too far, just enough to poke around in there to see if that wire connector is there. I'm guessing it is NOT if you don't have the plugs behind the bumper.

I want stock since the stockers are on my front bumper. I have the wiring behind the radio. No factory switch and no factory wiring from the distro box to the lower fogs...

So I am ordering the bezel with the factory fog. Have to add a fuse in the box. Then somehow from the box to the fog lights?

Curious,

Did you buy the lights? If so from where? My ford 'stealership' said they don't sell the kits anymore...

I would still like to add in the lights, but I'm stuck trying to find FACTORY lights.
Pretty sure there is no pre ran wiring for my truck either, but ford was nice enough to put two sizeable holes in my bumper for them......
