You didn't take off the gloves to type? lol

Also, I would sand it off. If you don't know- generally you can fill scratches from 400 grit or finer sand paper, so I would use that.

That would take for ever! Sanding each of those honeycomb things. that sounds like a terrible job from hell

I doubt gas would work the best and it would be smelly and horrible all the way around

What exactly did the paint do when you painted over it?

If it was just in spots where is messed up kinda sand it down and then spray the whole thing wont be noticeable

Is the paint you used enamel or laquer based?

What would work better? I'm not worried about the smell. I worked at a lawnmower repair shop, half my clothes smell like gas

Thinner. Maybe steel wool to scrape it off and rough it up at the same time.

or he got in a hurry and put to much paint on at one time. may be just as easy to get another grille from a junkyard and start from scratch?

it may even be cheaper than buying all that sanding/stripping supplies, then cleaning all that crap up.

Yeah but the nearest junkyard is like a hour away. I would pay what it's worth new in gas just to get there and back haha.

that's why you grab an explorer overhead console and a center console while your there then it's worth the trip.
