The truck im in the process of purchasing has that factory "Mirror" tint on the back windows. its a 97 STX 4x4. has anyone ever put tint over that or been able to remove it with chemicals? i think it looks like shit and i dont want to have to replace the windows to solve the problem. thanks

my 99 came with that nasty mirror tint... I read up a little bit.. I found that a steamer works the best to loosen up the glue.. like a portable clothes steamer.. start at the corners... Since I couldn't get my hands on it.. Me and my dad just used some paint thinner and a razor blade... you can take it in to your local tint shop and have them take it off too... I didn't because they wanted $25 per window... Make sure there is no glue left on the windows if you are going to have it tinted though

Yeah...that mirror stuff is not cool at all.

yeah i haven't talked to my tint guy yet figured I'd ask, theres no point of gettin 5% all around with that shit on there. was it as easy as taking regular tint off or a little more difficult? i hate it; it looks like garbage.

peel it, take a razor blade n some windex n scrape it clean... you will make a mess with "glue droppings" but its easy

Before attempting, call him up and see what he says, and what kind of quote he gives you on taking it off before getting tinted. Its the same as regular tint i believe.
