also is the extra 15 bucks to add so that i could still have high beams, is it worth it?
The part about quality has been covered.

The part about price can easily be explained by the fact that when you want to buy HIDs, you generally have to go trough a greedy lil sob (aka re-seller) that'll jack the prices up and give you a false sense of security when you'll associate the cost and the item (can you believe HK kits can still retail at +120$?).

As DDM mentions, they "own" the factory (or in part, i forget), so they can cut the middle man tax. Plus the DDM kits have a lifetime warranty, versus a 1-2-3 years warranty you usually see around.

I wanted to buy 2 kits for my truck this summer, but due to the stupid canadian DRL law, i'm debating about buying one for the fogs only.

Oh and depending on your local state laws, you might HAVE to buy hi/lows to be up to code.

There is no difference between the fogs vs headlights, either way you get the same kit, just the bulb shape is slightly different.

I have 55w 8000k from ddm. don't get the 55w they are way too bringht, everyone flashes me it is so f****** annoying. And just get the plug and play ones and have just your lows. Mine have been so problematic since I got them. They sometimes just wont come on for no reason, so ill unplug them and plug them back in and somehow work again. This time the fuse that comes with the hi/lo kit melted so I have to send them back to get a new one. Just annoying as hell tho, especially when I have to drive to work at 5am with no headlights.

You are being flashed because the beam goes in other peoples eyes not because the beam is overly bright, so adjust your headlamps.

When I first got HIDs I was flashed all the time too, then I adjusted my headlamps so the beam basically goes straight down, and that put an end to it.
