a 55w 8000k looks like a 35w 6000k. if you choose 55w get one higher then you would get with the 35w. (i.e 35w 8000k= 55w 10000k) this is in terms of color.

Don't you mean 6000k? Because there is no such thing as 6500k unless you bought aftermarket halogen lights that they call "HID lookalike".

Hi, (not trying to hijack this thread I tried starting my own with no luck HAHA ) but I have been reading all your guys/gals talk about HID lights for a few weeks now and was interrested in buying a set for my headlights. My only concern is blinding other drivers. I see you said to reaim the headlights but will that reduce the amount of light output or just reduce glare? I'm a little confused on this sorry. My truck being lifted 14 inches I dont want to be blinding other drivers but need more light output. Thanks.

...How come you're talking about being a broke 17 yr old on your other thread, and then state here that you're lifting your truck 14 inches?

It's just re-adjusting the beam.

Imagine your stock headlamps to be like a flashlight with a tight and narrow beam pointing down the hallway. Now, when you upgrade to HIDs, it's similar to expanding the beam. So now not only is the beam wider, it is also higher up. Thus to maintain a similar level of lighting area you would want to point the beam closer to the floor, so you're compensating for the scattered light output.

Maybe that's why he is broke? Either way... it doesn't really matter, it's not really any of our business.

When I was 16 ALL summer I worked 6 10 hour days a week getting paid (under the table) between $10-$15 an hour depending on what work I was doing It's already lifted and thats how I paid for that.

Thanks Tom for the advise! And thank you for the advise to brinker88 as he may not be kind enough to thank you (; But on a serious not and not trying to be a jerk but I hate comments (not just to me but others as well) when somebody asks a simple question and people give them a hard time and put no effort into helping answer the question...

But incase you were expecting the whole "Mommy and daddy bought it for me..." I have my truck paid off and the only thing they bought was the camo steering wheel cover. Just saying.

Is there a correct way to put the bulbs in? Only reason I ask is because I have had a ddm hi/lo kit fir a while and always wonder why when I put the highs on they tend to angle inward not upward? I tried rotating them but I get different angles never a significant "HIGH" beam.

Edit. Basically what I am asking is: does the position if the white wire on the bulb have anything to do with how the light is projected. Currently I have it set up as both on top.
