Default new tonneau

just finished off the truck with a new tonneau. only about 40 degrees out and rainy. took 2 of us and cautious use of a heat gun to stretch it out. i would suggest a sunny day for anyone else installing one.

really looking to protect cargo from rain and such however has anyone experienced any real gas mileage gains from eliminating the drag from the wind? just curious.

is that an extang black max? thats the one i used to have. I always dreaded having to unsnap it in the winter time. Last time I did I sat there with a hair dryer for almost 1/2 hour until i could get it snapped.

As far as the gas mileage, Im pretty sure mythbusters tested this myth and I think it didnt make a difference.

yes it is an extang black max. i like it. i like a snap on rather than the channel ones. i searched around for a snap on and got this for the best price i found for the vendors i looked at. i also have no plans on un-snapping that SOB until summer. lol

I highly recommend not unsnapping it lol. You look like a giant goober standing out in front of your house with a hair dryer on an extension cord trying to get your cover snapped back on.

I had a Channel one on my sonoma, it was too bad. the corners by the tailgate kinda stuck up which made it look goofy but other than that, I liked it.
