Interchangeable years for a 1993 Ranger
All,
I was hit in the left front corner with a 35mph impact. The other drivers insurance has totalled my truck.
I would like to know what years are interchangeable for parts on a 1993 Ranger extended cab? My truck has the 4.0 6cyl with auto trans. I was needing basically the whole front clip plus radiator support, AC condensor, etc.
I am hoping I can get the truck back and if I do I will be in a need for alot of front end parts.
Check out a few pics.
Thanks,
Tim

I think i may be right, but anything from a 94 will work. In not entirely sure about 95-97 as they look exactly the same other than the interior. so id say anywhere from 93-97.

you can get the headlights (all 4 lights) off of eay for chep, id go that route. also a cheap billet grille would look great, as far as the rest, hit up the local JYs, and you should find what you need...
a pic of my truck before i sold it. i ordered the heaslights and grille off of ebay, all for like 150 all together.
when i first bought it:
Front-end through various stages:
whole truck:
After wheels:
What it looked like when i sold it:

Find an ASY that has a complete front clip.
If I am correct, you are going to have to completely remove that whole side. Under that munched fender you are going to find some structure that is spot welded to the body, it is in the same condition as the fender. Then behind the grill you will find a radiator support that is also munched.
A front clip will have all the parts you will need. I have no idea of the cost, but you will need to remove a lot of spot welds to get the front off, plus a couple of bolts that hold the radiator support to the frame. There is quite a bit of damage that isn't visible from the outside. When you get the hood and that fender off, you will see what the damage really is. I would consult an auto body person to see how to go about what you will need to do. Most of the guys I have dealt with over the years have been very upfront and friendly, you may have to look around for one that will tell you how without wanting to do the job himself, but they are out there.
All in all, it will be quite a job, but I wouldn't throw the truck away for the amount of damage I can see in the picture.
Another alternative might be to find another Ranger on Craigslist or your local paper, friends, enemies, whom or whatever, that is damaged some where other than the front end. Take what you need and sell the parts that you have left.
Take a lot of pictures and write up what you had to do for the repair. Then post it in the "How To" section.
Good luck, and keep at it.
