Default trouble removing tailgate / repair or replace

I went to remove my tailgate to try and slow down the rust issue I have. Problem was it was stuck on the left hinge. Anyone have this problem before. I have had it off before and don't know why it won't come off this time. I think I might have to remove the 2 torx bolts holding the hinge onto the bed. I don't understand how it could get stuck on there with the plastic hinge insert. Anyone take the tailgate to a body shop to have them repair it? I have the flareside bed and a new replacement tailgate on lmctruck.com is about $200 plus a oversize fee. Wish I had the more common styleside bed the tailgate is half the cost. Plus you figure you have to have it painted. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I spray it with some pb, used a block of wood and a hammer. It was flexing the part of the bed where the hinge is bolted to so I stopped.

That tailsgate should just pull right off when you have it at about 3/4 open. Slide it to one side then try it. I replaced my tailgate as well due to rot underneath. It was a pain trying to find a used one. It took me about 4 months to find one and I did it Kansas, the guy had it on ebay and I got it for 100.00. It needed light body work, I did that myself and had a body shop paint it. Watch out for the aftermarket ones, They are kinda flimsy and can't hold weight like OEM ones can.
