Here I am under my new 2010 ranger xl 4 cyl regular cab and I notice the front spindles are rusted compared to other painted suspension parts... WHY DOESN'T FORD PAINT EVERY METAL UNDER TRUCK??? THERE ARE A FEW BARE METAL PIECES UNDER TRUCK THAT ARE NOT PAINTED AND surface rusted already ahhh!!!!!

Stock exhaust brackets, whatsup with that.... bare metal, no primer no nothing.... spindles..... rear leaf spring braket fastners that look like heavy duty presssed on studs of some sort.... come on ford.... at least use some trusty rustoleum primer... am I annnnnnal or what???

I'd rather them spend money on things that matter like motor, tranny, suspension, and ect. I don't want them to do what some of these other cheap asia vehicles do and put accessories out the butt to wow dumb people. I don't include Nissan and Toyota in that.

It's just surface rust. This piece of metal is so thick that it will never rust through. Other than for esthetic's reasons, there is no need to paint them.

i bought my '97 ranger two weeks ago. the rear hangers were replaced by the PO. the front driver's side snapped on my way to work the first day i drove it to work. they were rusted all the way through.

if you want to keep these things a long time, get them painted and keep an eye on them. i don't give a shit how thick they are, they will rust through eventually.

if someone had spent an hour and 5 bucks on mine 13 years ago, they'd be fine now.

this applies to the hangers. cna't say i've ever seem a spindle rust to the point of failure. but, it wouldn't hurt to do them, anyhow.
