Question Installing a new rear bumper and a Class III towing hitch

Hello to all,

This might sound like a noob question to most but I gotta know ...
I'll be installing a new rear bumper and a Class III towing hitch tomorrow and I need to know which order I should do this.
I'm assuming it would be a big mistake to install the towing hitch before the new rear bumper, but I've leaned never to assume anything.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
I'd also like to know what type of Hitch to go with. I know Reese is second to none, but I've been hearing a lot of good things about the
U-Haul hitches.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

I dunno much about the aftermarket ones. The factory one you gotta put up then put the bumper up. The bolts run through the same holes.

The 3 I have installed were after the bumper (as i never took it off). I used non-name brand class III hitches without a problem everytime. Found on CL for $50.

when I installed my Curt hitch I just had to remove 2 bumber bolts and sandwich the hitch and the bumber to the frame and then install 2 new bolts on each side in the hitch to frame with a spacer in between

and here is the instruction sheet:

I went with a Hidden Hitch. The sales guy told me that I didn't have to relocate my spare tire with this one.
And the installation looks just like the Curt installation.

Here's some pics

Only thing that may prove a problem will be one of the washers on the driver's side bumper bracket. May have to get some WD-40 out and twist it 180 for clearance. Had to do it on all the Rangers I have mounted them on so far.
