Default Problem With Fender Flares & Bumper

So check this out. I don't know if it is just me or what, but does Ford paint all there plastic parts? I went to the Spray & Wash that I have close by and after I get done washing down my truck all my fenders and bumper look like crap! It looks as though Ford painted the trim and the paint or whatever is peeling/coming off. Does this normaly happen? I'm guessing I have two options here. 1st being I get everything professionally painted to match the truck or 2nd I buy new fender flares and bumper praying to God that this doesn't happen again. Check out the pics:

First of all, did you buy it new or used? If you bought it used it's a strong possibility that the previous owner painted it. Secondly, you can order those flares in black or grey so I don't know why they'd paint them at the factory when they can mold the plastic that color, you know?

the black fenders would definitely look better than the gray on black...There is some stuff you can use to strip that paint off. (I saw it in a post where some dude took paint off his wheels and theyre chrome again) then another dude posted something on here about dying the plastic back to black...I don't remember who posted this stuff but ill hunt for links..thatll be cheaper to try than having that junk painted by a pro.

all of the edges and sport models (01+) all come with painted to match fender flares and bumpers. BUT, they do not peel like that.

I'm sorry Terry, I meant to let everyone know that it is a FX4 on bringing up the topic. My fault.

Looks like previous owner "freshen" them but but did a horrible job.

I have used krylon fusion paint on some before and never did that.

Yea they definitely look horrible. I might take the route James (ranger5572) mentioned about finding a way to dye them, or I might just go ahead and get some new flares and a bumper valance. How is everyone doing upkeep on these plastic pieces? Are you using Back To Black by Mothers or what?

at this point you'll be better off repainting them. Paint stripper does weird things to plastics and will def. fade them out. I'm not sure how well the dye would adhere to that finish as I have never myself tried it, but you can always give it a try.... you can strip the paint, and dye it, if it doesn't look good, strip it again, prime, then paint.

Yea it sucks! Do we know what the part numbers are for these flares? If not, I guess I'm going to have to pull them off and see if the part numbers are on the backside of them.

They aren't...give me a second. I posted those numbers elsewhere. I'll post them here as well.
