either that, or have that 2nd piece interchangeable on the rear brackets, as they are 2 piece on the 2 door, and 1 piece for the 4 door, I'm hoping these fit, because the new brackets i received look shorter, but I'm assuming its because of the different mounting locations.

swappin' 2dr to 4dr, on one the bracket goes back one set of holes. On the other it moves forward one set of holes. Which is which?? I really haven't a clue anymore. lol

Yeah, I had to drill and tap to make some new holes that were like 2" closer to the front of the truck.
These things really put up a fight, but I got those SOBs on there.

Somebody mentioned the 2 dr has a 2 piece rear bracket would like to see picture of that! digthis

Here's a picture of the 2 door brackets that go on the step bars.

those look like oem which I'm fixing to get, the ones I'm sending back are tube type with the bolts at the end of the tube ends, the ones you have are mounted from underneath instead of end to end digthis

Where is the other piece of the bracket?

This is what they consider a 4 door so that was what was wrong all along I ordered part for 2 door supercab which I went by the online window sticker, went out to the ranger and got the real window sticker and it says 4 door cause the back 2 doors open from the inside.digthis

Yeah, these are a set of 2008 OEM running boards for a 2-door extended cab. The guy that sold them forgot to give me the parts that bolt onto the cab. I got them for such a good deal, I wasn't about to call him up and tell him that. And I needed to install the 4-door brackets for my truck anyway.

I finally have the correct rear brackets for my truck and a big big thanks goes out to FX4! He's the man on this one!

I picked up some m10-1.5 bolts/nuts/washers for the install today. I'm attempting to install the drivers side Nerf bar. The rear bracket went on smooth and it's solid! The front one I pulled back my vinyl mat and lifted the rubber grommet to push the two bolts with washers down through the two holes they go in. I tightened them all up and I'm getting some flexing with the front bracket. It just doesn't seem very solid to me at the mounting point on the truck. My question is, do the front two bolts require more then a washer under the hex head of the bolt? Is there a stiffer plate or washer that is recommended for this? I'm snugging it up real real good and it just doesn't seem like enough to me.

I have this just about licked expect for the flexing in the front bracket. I owe a big thanks to everyone for all the help and responses.
