Default duplicolor paint job?

i was thinking of painting my 2000 xlt from white to black myself using duplicolor but am a little sceptical on the results. does anyone know how well it usually comes out? or is it worth just getting someone else to do it?

I tried. I sanded and primed, painted and clear coated. Still looks like shit. Still pisses me off

You have any experiance painting an automotive type finish? If not your first go round might not come out as planned. Read up, practice, prep really well and you can end up with a decent paint job, not professional but decent. I've done a couple of bikes and nothing ever turned out show quality but would get an occasional "nice".

I tired to do a duplicolor paint job on my front valance, it looked like crap. On little parts, it comes out ok, but over big surfaces, it looks like crap - that has been my experience.

I used duplicolor high performance textured metallic coating on both bumpers and it came out ok. I just sanded the metal and applied it directly to plastic. Also, I've used the duplicolor bed coating and although it looks crappy on some areas, it works.
