Now that I'm looking again it looks like there has been a bracket added to that bracket you have but i cant tell for sure? Was that piece attached to it supposed to stay on the truck? then it would look just like one of mine(i cant remember which is the front and back)

Edit: Thats clearly a 2 door bracket with something attached to it.

after talking to my buddy, he said that the 2 door brackets are actually 2 part brackets, while the 4 door brackets are a single piece.

I will go look at my truck later but I am pretty sure my brackets were one piece just like in my pictures. If what your buddy says is true about the 2 doors having a 2 piece bracket then I should have that other piece still attached to my truck.

There's gotta be something there for those brackets to attach to on your truck...

LOL well now that its settled . Yes your friend is right! I just confirmed it, The other half of my bracket is still on my truck(oops). Anyway this proves that these were never on his 4 door ranger and that the brackets are 100% 2 door. Hope you are able to locate the correct brackets.

Totally sucks for ya Rafal

I would guess that guy you bought them from had the same problem and then just ditched them off on you.

If it were me I would contact him to let him know.

I deleted his email/phone number and I'm not about to show up at his house... Still came out cheaper then anywhere else I have seen.

I just want to make sure im clear on this issue , i too bought a pair of these running boards from someone that said they should be an exact fit. Now i have a 2001 xlt 4 dr. ... do i have to go through the cabs floor to install the front brackets ? we did a dry run today and the brackets didnt seem to line up with the running board screw holes ... is this the wrong thing for my truck ? they were factory on a 2003 ford ranger edge

Dont think you still have them but I just got some and they are for a 4 door and I have a door. Would you want to trade? Thanks and hopefully you get this.
