I was wondering, how do I remove the bed rails and the side steps on my truck? As seen in photo:

wrap a chain around them and hook them up to a pole, then put it in reverse and gun it.

The black caps on the end of the rails pop apart (there's a notch in the top center that you can stick a screwdriver in. There's an "L" shaped bracket under there that has a bolt that as you loosen expands the "puck" that's under the rail being compressed holding it in place. Hope that helps... I see if I still have the pics from when I took mine off.

Here's what it looks like after you pop the black covers off. I took the rails off before I started with the bracket so I didn't have to worry about dropping it or anything.
Like I mentioned before... the vertical bolt compresses a rubber block under the rail holding the whole thing in place... I pulled the rear ones out through the taillights 'cause the front ones were a bitch to get out through the hole.

Well, I was thinking this: Paint my nerf bars or remove them and take of the rails and put a black hard top bed cover. Good idea?

Take off the nerf bars and bed rails and put a black bed cover! Good idea! I want a more sporty look. I don't even go off road! :P

Haha, seems like I should remove the rails and bars! lol. But it kinda matches my side mirrors, since they have that silver thing on them... I have no clue why it's like that.
