I used to have a set of hella 500 driving lights and a set of the hella 500 fog lights.
the fog light lens broke.
so i got to thinking how the fog light has a black shroud in front of the bulb..
I removed the part of the lamp that holds the bulb and shroud (it's held in place with 3 tiny clips that you bend up)
then, removed the same non-shroud ones on my driving lights.
Installed the shrouded ones on my driving lights.
Results: same driving type beam. Except the shroud covering the bulb eliminates 95% of all light "scatter" that driving lights have.
Also, you can use them on the road (aimed correctly) without people flashing their high beams at you.
Sorry, no pics
