Default Took out my HID lights

Today I took out my HID lights. Main reasons were that while I like them, they cause static when listening to the radio and the HID foglamps did not secure well on the foglamp assembly. I put back the stock lights back on. I may buy a better brand of HID's later on when I get more money but for now, what kind of bulbs do you guys use that are bright and appear more whiter for the head lights and fog lamps?

I use Philips "Xtreme power" bulbs. They have the same "color" as stock bulbs, but the beam output is longer, wider and brighter.

I second the Silverstar Ultras I love mine

I've never heard of HID's causing interference. Is this common among all kits?

Idk I had a lot of static when I would turn on the HID's but when I turned them off the static went away. I moved them around to see if that would do anything and no luck. Maybe it was just the ones I bought as I don't think this is a normal thing.

Btw if you have pics of those silverstars that would be sweet!

x2 I have some DDM slim fogs and no complaints. Hasn't affected my radio reception. IIRC correctly when I first installed HIDs on my headlights I was getting some static but after rearranging the wiring to ensure the wires weren't contacting anything that could project the interference the issue went away.

If you order them online from DDM it's a crapshoot on when you will actually get them but since you are local to their HB store you can just go in there and buy them.

I have the apex and another that I am unsure of from ddm. I also have their fogs.
I have the same issue in my ranger and my cobalt. Spoke to a few of the electrical techs at work and they say its just how it is. I have been trying to figure this one out and have had no luck. Tried adjusting wires, ground etc.

How are your ballasts mounted? They screwed in? Or just 2sided taped on? If screwed remove them man just use the tape that's how mine are that could maybe be it

Yeah they were screwed on. I also used zip ties but that didn't work.

what brand were you using? if you want to pick some up from ddm in HB i can help you install them. I install HID's for a couple different little shops and I havent had an issue yet.
