Default I suck at opening headlights and corners

I've been trying all day to get these corners open. They are a spare set of TYC's that actually came on my 2003 when I bought it used. I took these off this morning (they were in rough shape) and I put some OEM corners on that I had removed when I bought my blacked out corners for my 2004.

First I tried to put them in the oven after it was warmed up to 200 degrees F. I let them sit for 20 minutes. No luck - tried pulling them apart gently and it wouldnt budge. I put them back in, for another 15 minutes and upped the temperature to 250. Results were that it got really soft and sagged onto itself. I pulled them out when I saw they were very sagged and it came apart with one pull, while I was pulling it was so soft that it nearly folded on to itself.

The other corner I tried 215 degrees for about 15 minutes. It didn't melt, but I tried to gently pull it apart and it cracked. Tried on another area and cracked it again.

Problem is I need what it takes to get these corners apart, because I'm trying to do a many-LED PCB retrofit on the corners. I also want to do the headlights.

I don't know what to do.

My plan was to buy 2 sets of everything, and ruin one set for the lens, and ruin the other set for the body. Then after wards marry the good body with the good lens.

I'm really stuck here.

Holy shit. Send a set to me. I'll break them apart for you and can paint them if you need also.

I am planning extensive LED work inside of these. I just need them opened without ANY damage.

I need these ones however:

If you buy a set and open them successfully without damage I'll give you 50$, or do LED work for you (whichever you want)

I found them for 30$ shipped on eBay.

These are also available in black. I don't care if they are pink - I'm painting them body-matched anyways.

The important thing is the lens is totally distorted - not just a small patch like the OEM style ones. This way my PCB's will be hidden.

I successfully opened these corners today, 6-8 minutes at 225, no problems what so ever - actually really easy compared to OEM headlights.

you got lucky, from what i heard that the aftermarket ones are harder to open due to different glue, and material used for the lights

Not this brand, they are super cake compared to anything else I've messed with.

That's odd that you had problems.... I have painted probably around 20 sets of headlights and corners, both OEM and different aftermarket (all Ford, but different models), but what I have always done was preheat over to 215*, put the lights in for 8 minutes, remove, gently pry around the whole thing with a flat screwdriver, not separating the lens yet, but rather stretching the glue a bit, then after I lifted on the whole light, again using the screw driver, I went around the lens separating the lens slowly. After I was done, I generally but the body of the light back in the oven at the 215* for about 4 min, and removed the left over glue to make room for the sealant.
