Default How to paint my back bumper?

The paint is starting to chip and it is a little rusty. Not sure how I would go about repainting it? Im assuming I am going to need to grind or sand it? I am looking to paint it black. Here is what it looks like. Thanks for the info.

You could hit it with a sander to clean it up. Then I would use rustolleum paint to paint it.

Kinda looks like more then suface rust though.

I would start with a rough paper to get it off. Then work your way to a finishing type sand paper

You can use this. It works really good.

I just did my step bars. best bet is a grinder with a rust/paint stripper. You'll probably need 3 stripper pads. You could try a drill with the drill bit pads but it will take alot longer. after i stripped it i used VHT Roll bar and chassis high gloss. It says its a self prime and paint. 3 coats of paint, 10-15 minute drying time between coats, 24 hour curing period
Before

grinding

after
