Default Ford Ranger...Slides in winter? Best option?

Alright I recently got a Ford Ranger. I'm worried it will slide a lot in Michigan winters, what is the best option as far as adding weight to the back?

And how are they in the winter? Are they terrible with the weight in the back?

thanks!

Add a couple of hundred pounds of sand bags in the box in front of the wheel wells.

You could add some snow tires, especially if it is 2 wheel drive.

Use a lighter touch on the throttle. Especially when starting from a stop, accelerating, going around corners, and going up hills.

Keep the tires from spinning as much as possible. If you spin the tires, they heat up and build ice under them, making them spin more.

Most 2 wheel drive trucks are bad in the snow because they are light in the back end.

I live in northern Wisconsin. I work in da U.P.
