Default 2001 Ranger and new headlights

Good Morning everyone . I know I am like the new kid on the block but I would like some of your knowledge on a well discussed topic here, New headlights.
I too am looking into replacing my headlights. but not because I drive a lot at night which I don't, I just like the look of some of the new ones. As far as HID, LED, Halogen, Projector, Halo's and the sort can anyone explain what the difference is and the benefit of each. I do like the Halo's.
Also if this was you, which would you pick? Or What did you decide on?
I looked at some headlights By Spyder on Ebay, tried to chat with the rep(oemassive) but all he would tell me was seek professional installation. I quickly figured out he knew nothing about the lights he was selling. Installing these can't be that complicated, It's just simple wiring.
Tell me what you think.

Spyder makes some interesting looking headlights. They do a shit job of throwing light, which is what a light is supposed to do! Halo's are add-ons, they can be used for signaling, but they don't replace the main light source. HID's and LED's both have point in their favor, just mostly personal choice. But always projectors, for either. NEVER plug and play, those are crap and just blind oncoming traffic.

I made my choice a long time ago, I have HID projectors from The Retrofit Source
