Default Tailgate Lock

Would appreciate some recommendations for installing a keyed lock on the tailgate of my 2008 Ranger Supercab. The only one Iíve seen is Pop & Lock on Amazon and it doesnít get great reviews. Hope there are some other suggestions. Also, Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.
TIA

Pete I installed a Tonna Pro solid cover on mine and all I could find was a Pop & Loc. I came to the conclusion, that if someone had a crow bar and determined to steal the cover or contents under it, nothing could stop them. That was 6 or 7 years ago and haven't searched the net or Amazon or eBay since. Luckily I don't travel much and live in a small town and my truck is always garaged with security. Good luck!

Hi Bob. Thanks for responding, just ordered a pop a lock. Hopefully itís enough to stop opportunity thefts. Agreed, thereís no stopping anyone whoís determined to get your tailgate down. My local Home Depot seems to attract unscrupulous characters who think nothing of pulling their pickups/vans next to another pickup and transfer stuff within seconds and be gone.

If your truck is in the weather a lot give it a shot of WD40 ever so ever. Mine lives in the garage mostly,I'm retired and and just drive to Wally World and for a cup of coffee a mile away once a day. It's a 2004 with less than 97 thousand miles. It had 87 thousand when I bought it over 6 years ago.Lol

Hey Poppe,

How did you like your Pop a lock? Any photos you can share and/or feedback on that product?

Thanks in advance, I am considering that product as well.

Relatively straight forward install, sorry no photos of installation. All I can say is, it works and gives me some degree of comfort. If someone is determined to get into the bed of your Ranger this lock will not stop them. I believe it will deter opportunity thieves looking for a quick heist who would rather move on then be caught. For the price point and ease of installation it was an easy decision for me. Hope this helps.
