Default Grill Guard Installation help

Apologies if this has been answered already, but I'm trying to install a grill guard I got from truckgeardirect.com. Look like the brand is Hunter. The bracket that bolts to the frame doesn't want to fit over the bottom of the bumper cover. There's a slot where I assume its supposed to fit into, but it's kinda small. I could force it in there, but I imagine that would damage the bumper cover. Any suggestions?

Any pictures? Can you just enlarge the slot that is already in the bumper cover?

So I just kinda went for it. It seems to fit ok I suppose, although I did have to bend the bumper cover back a little bit. My only concern is the bumper cover warping or cracking over time.

I'd would add some photos, but apparently I can't just upload them from my computer?

I use mobile exclusively so I'm no help there. Like I mentioned in my other post I probably would have cut slots into the bumper cover for clearance as opposed to bending it out of the way. You most likely will run into cracking.

Yeah that's probably my best option. I was hoping to not have to cut or alter anything, but i guess it is what it is. Seems weird that you'd have to do that with a part that's made to fit this truck. Other than that the guard itself is pretty solid.

I had to cut the slot when installing my Westin grill guard on my 2004 Ranger XLT 4x4.
Adios,
Gary

Default Grill Guard Installation help

Looking for a grill, preferably complete. Can be chrome, or painted. I will be cutting the middle out so that can be damaged. Let me know what youve got.
